Nearly 1,000 views on YouTube – thanks to a lucky break

Just last month, I mentioned that it took seven months to reach 500 hits on YouTube with my two-minute video message to WWII veterans.  In less than a month thereafter, hits nearly doubled. Whoa! How did this happen?

The rest of this post may sound like it belongs on the Investing side. But, of course, there is a reason it is posted here instead.

When attending a Quick Start Real Estate School – taught by Ron LeGrand himself – in Cincinnati, Ohio, I met a gentleman who works for Ron at Global Publishing, Inc. He happened to like my message of reaching out to the veterans and, more importantly, why I’m doing it. Immediately after our conversation, he sent out a message to the company’s sizeable list of email addresses – all those who voluntarily opted in to receive messages from Global Publishing – urging them to check out my video. Voila!

His quick action gave me a glimpse into how and why certain businesses succeed even in this tough economy.

I am one of those tens of thousands of people who opted in to receive Global Publishing’s emails. Experts say that, today, email-open rate is only 20%. And I, too, open only those emails that I consider are important. Everything else gets deleted without opening. Yet, I not only open but actually pay attention to almost everything that comes out of Global Publishing. Why? In a word, “value.”

Most of what Global Publishing puts out is very helpful to me as an investor who is always hungry for pertinent pieces of information. It’s packed with practical information that I can use in our investment business.

My association with Global Publishing started at the end of September 2012, which was seven months ago. It is one of the best things that ever happened to me since I chose to become an investor 13 years ago. I wish I had been associated with the company since way back when. But better late than never!

My dream of reaching a large number of WWII veterans by August 15, 2015 continues. In fact, there is a plan in place to have a massive media blitz to reach out to a lot more of them effectively before it’s too late – but it costs a lot of money. This is one of the key reasons being profitable with our investment business is important to me – so that I can do what I believe I was born to do. Until then, however, I will continue to reach out to them the old-fashioned way – by responding to each of the Google Alerts that come my way about WWII veterans. With this method, all it costs is my time at night. This is a labor of love for me for the freedom I have been able to enjoy.

I am sincerely grateful not only to WWII veterans but to the gentleman at Global Publishing for the lucky break he has given me.
