Things for which I am grateful

How I think about life has often been based on “War, Peace, and Gratitude.” One of the daily tasks to which I have been committed for quite some time has been to write three things for which I’m grateful. I used to keep them in regular notepads. Then, starting in 2018, I began writing them electronically.

I decided to pick the best entry from every November 17th since 2018. Here they are:

  • 11/17/2018: I am grateful for the wonderful camaraderie among the property owners when we meet monthly.
  • 11/17/2019: I am grateful for my simple life with David, my best friend.
  • 11/17/2020: I am grateful for the time to get together with investor friends for breakfast at Kerby’s on Woodward Avenue and Square Lake Road.
  • 11/17/2021: I am grateful for having been able to manage cash flow in bed at 3:30 AM as I happened to wake up early.
  • 11/17/2022: I am grateful for the sense of relaxation that comes to me when monthly blogs are out on time – as always.

I just realized that I have been writing 1,095 gratitude entries each year. I find it to be a relaxing way to end each day for someone like me that leads an otherwise hectic life.

One of the things that I take for granted – for which I am grateful whenever I think about it – is that, whether in Japan or in the U.S.A., I have never experienced hunger in my entire life.

Last but certainly not least, above all the gratitude entries, I often think of David as an angel who was sent to me from heaven. I am eternally grateful to God for this most incredible gift that has been bestowed upon me.
